How Hungry Are You?
LivinMyLifeOnPurpose.com
When I first started my career, my boss told me to get married and have a bunch of kids. He told me that so I
would have to work my butt off to provide for them. Learning this philosophy and following through with it
has really helped me in my career path. I’ve found that I can apply the same principle in improving my
relationship with Jesus.

I’ve noticed in my walk with Jesus that in the beginning I was so excited about my new found faith. I felt like I
just got a new electronic gadget. After time passed just like a new gadget the novelty of it seemed to wear off. I
was still thinking about him a lot, however, the burning desire to continue my walk wasn’t as strong.

Before I had a chance to stray away from my path, I heard a great sermon about staying hungry. It always
amazes me how God works. Right when I need the encouragement, he sends me a message (Thank God for
Ipods). His sermon was about always walking forward. When we walk forward with him we will grow in our
faith. When we walk backwards we are following the wrong path and if we stand still, it is easy for us to be
knocked backwards.

Many people find God in their darkest hours of life and eventually most put him aside once the dark days have
passed. We get so busy with life that we put him aside because it’s more convenient to say “I’ll talk to God on
Sunday or before I go to bed”. However, I’ve learned that the best way to have him near is to talk to him all the
time. “Seek first the kingdom of God , and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33.

So in order to keep the fire for God burning we need to continuously move forward in life. “If you keep doing
what you’re doing, you keep getting what you’re getting.” So stop being satisfied where you’re at, and start
moving forward. You can start moving forward by saying the following prayer.

God, I need you. I know that I am a sinner. I have done things that I know are wrong. I'm sorry... please forgive
me. I believe that Jesus came to die on the cross, in my place, to take away my sins. I believe that He was
buried, and on the third day, rose from the grave. I believe that He is ascended into heaven and sits at Your right
hand. Please write my name in the Lamb's Book of Eternal Life. I open the door of my heart and ask that You
would come inside of me by the power of Your Spirit. Lord, reveal Your presence in my life as I live for You.
Bring all of the fruit of Your Holy Spirit upon my life that I may live abiding in your abundance, until the day
that I finally see You face to face.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
